![]() The thing is, if you look up Risenest Technology LLC, they are a computer store in either Sterling or Ashburn, VA, both cities are listed but it says they are temporarily closed, but the picture on their “business” listing on Google shows a picture of the Norton LifeLock 360, so they really are trying to play up this scam to get people to fall for it. So that was the reason I started checking into it and checking my PayPal but when I realized which email it went to I knew I was fine and they were scamming. Plus, I have my credit report locked through each of the credit reporting agencies as I had my identity stolen about 10 years ago, what is scary is they sent it in my legal name, not the name that is on my email which is my husband’s last name as I never took his last name legally when we got married 18 years ago, but the email is in my first name and his last and I do it like that to protect myself because most people aren’t going to think that someone that has been married as long as I have, has never legally changed their last name. They also have in the email that I paid that same amount last month, that’s when I knew they were a scam as why would I pay that price monthly for lifelock360 unless I had millions to protect, the only thing I have millions of in my life is stressors and bills it seems and I sure have no desire to protect either of those. When I saw they were claiming it was for a lifelock360 account, under that email, again I knew I had not signed up for one but went and checked anyways as I’ve had a rough last few weeks and could’ve possibly hit a button to signup for it and not realized it, but even lifelock360 says there is no active account for that email and I have signed out of my PayPal app and back in twice and that invoice is not showing up so I know it’s not real. I knew I never would’ve signed up for something that cost that much and if I do a free trial on anything I always go into my calendar and set a reminder for the day prior to when it’s set to expire to remind me to go cancel it. I just got this same invoice today, thing is they sent it to my regular email account not my email that is connected to my PayPal acct, I’ve had it set up like that for as long as I have had PayPal which has been at least 18 years. Hope that explains some of how auto payments through PayPal works Thing is if you ever sign up with that service again, you have to go in and unblock them so they can charge you. If you set up a recurring charge and forget to cancel it, PayPal will always side with the business saying you essentially have a contract with them and that you need to cancel it and then block them from charging. You can go into your setting and turn off any recurring charges you don’t want to go through each month and it blocks the company from charging you. I don’t believe an invoice can be paid automatically, only when you sign up for recurring payments or use your PayPal debit card(if you have one) to pay for something will they try and pay them automatically. I know they sent it to me about 30 mins ago and I started researching but then I remembered go check the email the invoice was sent to, it’s not the email that my PayPal is connected to, and it’s not showing up on my PayPal at all. ![]() The time of day you call can significantly affect both the wait time, and which call center (domestic or off-shore) you reach.Ĭheck your actual PayPal, the invoice shouldn’t even be actually showing up as an unpaid invoice on the account.
